What do trees do for us??

1. They Produce Oxygen - Through Photosynthesis a mature tree can produce enough Oxygen for up to 10 people, we & many lifeforms need Oxygen to survive.

2. Absorb & Store Carbon Monoxide & Carbon Dioxide - Carbon monoxide a very poisonous gas & Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas which contributes to global warming, neither of these gases is good for us or the environment.

3. They Clean Our Air - Trees remove a host of pollutants with long names helping stop the air quality in cities reaching toxic levels.

4. Creating habitats - Providing homes and food source for many species of other plants, animals & insects.

5. Reducing The Risk Of Floods - On average a mature broad leaf tree can soak up 50-100 gallons (227 - 454 litres) of water daily. This could help populated areas withstand flooding.

6. Creating Micro Climates - As trees release water vapour & provide shade, they have a cooling effect like a natural air-conditioner reducing temperatures in cities which are measured several degrees higher than non-urban areas.

7. Trees produce a wide range of fruit, nuts & edible berries for consumption by animals and humans alike.

8. They Are Good Neighbours - They are beautiful to look at, they clean your air and provide many forms of recreation & enhance all round wellbeing. Good neighbours to have... & they rarely play music too loud!
